Below is a complete Mistborn character list from Mistborn the Final Empire. I’ve only included characters who appear multiple times, have speaking roles, or are mentioned multiple times. There will be a brief description accompanying each character and their significance. I hope the list below helps you.
1. Vin
Vin is the protagonist of the Mistborn series. In The Final Empire (Book 1) she is untrusting due to her life growing up on the run with her brother Rean. When she meets Kelsier, everything begins to change. Vin is a mistborn which grants her the powers of all the allomantic metals.

2. Rean
Rean is Vin’s older brother. He is only mentioned in the series as he ran away leaving Vin to fend for herself. He had a hard life and though he cared for Vin, he was often abusive toward her. He taught her lessons of distrust that Vin must break throughout this first book and the series.
3. Kelsier
Kelsier is one of the main characters in the series. He is the backbone of the group. He’s the mastermind behind the group’s plans and ideas and the reason for the group’s success. He like Vin is mistborn. He trains Vin to use her powers. Kelsier is a good man who has gone through a lot but has come out better on the other side.

4. Mare
Mare was Kelsier’s wife, she was also a Tineye. By burning tin, she could enhance her senses. Tineyes are valuable spies. She accompanied Kelsier on all his thieving jobs and was part of the reason that Kelsier was the best and most famous crew leader in the final empire. It is thought by everyone that she betrayed Kelsier leading to their capture at Kredic Shaw.
5. Gimmel
Kelsier was trained by Gimmel after escaping the Pits of Hathsin. Unfortunately, nothing else of Gimmel is known.
6. Breeze
Breeze is a complicated man with a complicated past. He is a misting soother. By burning brass, he can dampen certain emotions while leaving others. He can make people feel how he wants them to feel. Not only is he an excellent soother, but he is also a good man even though he keeps that part of him bottled up so nobody can see it.

7. Ham
Hammond burns pewter which makes him a thug. Thugs enhance their strength which makes them very sought after mistings. One thug can take out 5-10 regular men by himself and a handful of them mixed with a couple of coinshots can make a small army. Ham is deeply philosophical and is always questioning whether what they are doing is right. He is a great warrior, a great man, and a great friend.
8. Spook
Lestibournes is part of Kelsier’s crew. Kelsier changed his name to Spook because it was easier to say but probably also because he understood that Lestibournes means “I’ve been abandoned” and Kelsier didn’t want Spook to feel that way anymore. Spook Is a Tin Eye and was the crew’s lead lookout man. He is a hopeless romantic who tries to court Vin.
9. Yeaden
Yeaden is the current leader of the skaa rebellion. When he first hires Kelsier and his crew to provide him with an army he is very skeptical that Kelsier and his crew will be able to pull it off, but he quickly changes his mind after a few months of working with Kelsier and the crew. Kelsier saw him as an equal part of the crew though the other crew members probably did not.
10. Clubs
Cladent or Clubs is a skaa artisan, woodworker specifically, who is a misting smoker. He burns copper to shield the other mistings burning metal around him. He was chosen by Kelsier to be part of his crew due to two factors. First, his hatred of the final empire, and second, he is a good and honorable man.
11. Dockson
Dockson isn’t a misting but he is an administrative genius. He is the organizer of everything that needs taken care of. He keeps track of the money, buys the food, and rents the warehouses needed. He is a good man and is Kelsier’s best friend.

12. Kareien
Kareien is only talked about briefly by Dockson when Vin is asking him about his life. Kareien was the woman with whom Dockson fell in love on his plantation. Kareien was taken to bed with the master and the next day her body was returned for burial. That very night Dockson left the plantation and never returned.
13. Marsh
Marsh is Kelsier’s brother. He is a misting seeker that burns bronze to seek out other allomancers. He teaches Vin how to use her bronze burning to not only find other allomancers, but to figure out which metal the allomancers are burning. He is a great man who has dreamed of toppling the final empire for many years. He was at one time the leader of the rebellion until he lost hope. He loves his brother even though he knows he can be selfish.
14. Captian Demoux
Captain Demoux is a skaa rebel who is given command by Kelsier himself. When Yeaden takes most of the army on a test run that leads to tragedy captain Demoux stays behind with a couple thousand men. After the tragedy of losing most of the army, Kelsier promotes Demoux to captain.
15. Lord Renue/OreSeur
Lord Renue is a nobleman whose body was taken by OreSeur the kandra. Kandra can take a body, ingest the bones, and then build a new body around the bones. They are the ultimate impersonators and because of this, they are great spies. Kandra follow their contracts without exception and make excellent servants. OrSeur’s contract was bought by Kelsier and he plays the part of a nobleman who buys weapons under the pretense of being a weapons merchant. All the weapons end up going to the rebellion.
16. Sazed
Sazed is a keeper of Terris. He has the power of pherochemy which is similar to allomancy. He can store certain such traits as strength, sight, weight, memories, and others in metals and then call upon those traits at a later time. His pherochemical powers make him a keeper. Keepers are responsible for gathering knowledge of the world before the ascension of the Lord Ruler. The Lord Ruler fears the keepers and is trying to snuff them out of existence. Sazed is an important part of the crew and is a great and wise man.

17. Elend Venture
Elend Venture is first in line to inherit leadership of the Venture house. House Venture is the most powerful noble house in all of the Final Empire. Elend is an eccentric scholar who purposefully tries to stand out and disobey court rules. He is a philosopher who doesn’t believe the lord ruler is ruling as effectively as he could. He hypothesizes that the skaa are not different from the nobleman even though that’s not what is taught in the final empire. He falls in love with lady Vallete who is Vin in disguise.

18. Jastes Lekal
Jastes Lekal is a drinking buddy of Elend Venture. He too is a scholar and believes in many of the same philosophies as Elend. He and Elend believe that when they take over their houses, they will be able to change the workings of the Final Empire with an alliance between their houses.
19. Telden Hasting
Telden is another drinking buddy of Elend and Jastes. Though he doesn’t necessarily believe the same things that Elend and Jastes believe, he does read philosophical books and debates with them. He, unlike Elend, is very flirty with women and doesn’t have any trouble getting women. He is well-liked and is the second ere to his house.
20. Straff Venture
Straff Venture is Elend’s father. He is the leader of the most powerful house in the final empire. He is a tin eye and therefore has very keen senses. He gained a lot of power for his house when he took the contract for the lord ruler’s atium mining thus putting House Venture in charge of the pits of Hathsin. Straff is a ruthless man who will do whatever he must to maintain power.
21. Lord Tresting
Lord Tresting is a plantation nobleman. The scene for the entire series is set at his plantation. Testing sees a skaa worker who seems to have defiance in his eyes which is very uncommon. Later that day tresting summons a skaa child to his bed. It’s at this point that Kelsier, the skaa worker with defiance in his eyes, kills lord Tresting. Not only does he kill Tresting, He kills all the nobles that lived on the plantation who were in charge of keeping the skaa workers in line.
22. Menace
Menace is an old skaa worker on the Tresting plantation. He interacts with Kelseir at the beginning of the book and again about halfway through the book. He is wise and strong which is how he was able to grow so old in the first place. He is well-respected by other skaa and his wisdom saves the remaining two thousand men in the rebel army when the rest of it is lost in battle.
23. Shan Elariel
Shan Elariel is the popular girl at the court. She makes Vin’s life miserable by giving her a hard time whenever possible. She also makes Vin gather information for her about Elend Venture. She was at one time engaged to Elend and she has it out for him. She tries to assassinate Elend but finds herself dueling Vin with whom she has a very exciting fight.
